David Craigie started this petition to UK Parliament

I am a chef, that has worked all his life paying taxes and working over and above what would be classed as a normal week. Due to an accident, I damaged my knee and also needed a hip replacement ( latter not due to accident), and now am classed as disabled. It is at this point that the average person would expect, having paid national insurance, that the system is there to support them both mentally and economically to get back onto their feet. How ever on the contrary I am expected to live below the breadline, the DWP have made multiple mistakes that have left me in considerable debt due to no fault of my own and this has taken an enormous toll on my mental and physical health.

The social security system in this country is broken, the sub departments in the DWP can not communicate to each other, and in times of dire need the general population can not get the help they need. Therefore an independent review of the DWP is required in order to produce a system that works for the benefit of the people.
