John Lawson started this petition to UK Parliament

If you find yourself fall upon hard times and you have paid national insurance contributions to the state. Then you should be entitled to more than those that have contributed less or nothing to society and the system.

This will improve the lives of millions of British people that fall upon hard times due to no fault of their own.

Currently if you have paid in 50 years of national insurance contributions  amounting to  potentially over £100,000  you will be entitled to the same as someone that has paid in zero. Seems fair?

I am proposing a system in which the more national insurance that you have paid the more that you will recieve untill you find yourself back on your feet for a given amount of time. 6months - 1 year.

This is not a new system. Most countries in Europe have adopted something like this, But the UK falls behind to protect its own working class people.  It is protection by the working for the working.

Imagine falling ill or losing your job due a pandemic and being told that you will recieve £70 per week..... could you rely on that?? Because at the moment in line with the government universal credit scheme that is what most people will recieve.
