So many women in the United Kingdom suffer from cervical cancer because they are not legally able to get a pap smear before the age of 25. If women have signs of cervical cancer before the age of 25, they can get a pap smear up to 6 months earlier than their 25th birthday. I myself, a 26 year old woman who lives in the United States, have had precancerous cells at the age of 18. If they didn’t find those cells when they did, those cells would have quickly turned into cervical cancer. I’m lucky I went the the Gynecologist when I did. I fear for the young women currently living in the UK. Many of them are going through what I went through, except they aren’t getting the help that they deserve because of their age. It’s a human right to get medical attention. Why are they depriving these young women of a necessary low-cost medical exam that takes ten minutes to perform? Too many women have died from cervical cancer because they waited too long to get seen by a doctor. Sign this petition to help show the UK Parliament that we need to change this Immediately!
