Nelson OLOWOFOYEKU started this petition to UK Parliament and

The overseas trained health professionals working in the UK are contributing immensely to ensure the best and continuous delivery of health and social care services even at this period of Coronavirus pandemic.

While their Counterparts in other friendly countries like the USA, Australia, New Zealand are  being offered Permanent residency at point of entry, here in the UK it is a three year restricted Visa which renewal further subject them to inevitable government extortion during the process of reapplication, increased IHS charges, placement on "special" tax bands, they are also constrained by policies from accessing public funds, being faced with disdain and institutional racism, limited child care to mention a few.

In these trying times as the government is deeming it highly necessary to consult and seek for solutions wherever possible, which is not limited to reactivating retired medical personnels, drafting in the final year medical and nursing students, supporting businesses and firms with unprecedented funds being made available, we are imploring  the UK government in good faith and fairness to make necessary amendments and as a kind gesture bestow Indefinite Leave to Remain status on our Overseas trained health professionals.

These overseas trained health professionals in their numbers are already sacrificing all they've got, putting in longer hours at work, covering extra shifts as a fall out from staff going to self-isolation, not being able to spend time with their families to ensure everyone is being adequately and professionally cared for or treated even in the face of this scourge of Covid-19 and not deterred by the fact that they and their loved ones and those who has had close contact with them are not being considered for test even as some of them are paying the ultimate price, loosing their lives in the course of work.
