Give the people of United Kingdom a Bank Holiday for the Royal Wedding in Spring 2018

The people of the UK should be given a Bank Holiday to celebrate the wedding of HRH Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
The UK is facing a difficult and uncertain future. We are constantly reminded of the difficulties facing the Brexit process and the general mood in the country is pretty low. Our position on the global stage is diminishing and we need to feel a strong sense of pride in our country again. We need to see some pomp and ceremony. We need to eat finger sandwiches, battenburg cake, drink tea, wave little flags and hold street parties. We need to remember our incredible history and have it clutched to our bosoms during the years to come.
Prince Harry is one of the most popular members of the Royal family and many people would relish the opportunity to watch him marry the woman he loves. The government has stated that "there isn't a precedent in this area". However, a bank holiday was declared for Princess Anne's wedding in 1973. That to me is a precedent to declare a bank holiday in this instance too.
The Government should be mindful of the benefits to public morale that giving a bank holiday would bring.
