Since being diagnosed with bipolar I have been on medication, I firmly believe this has saved my life. Medication is an essential part of my everyday to “normalise” my life and keep myself safe and healthy. Working out the figures I have calculated that over the course of my life it will cost me around £15,000 to continue taking the medication that is needed to live my life. I am one of many in this position. Bipolar is a disorder that is still being researched but there are so many other illnesses that need the same funding. Currently the government funds physical disability prescriptions but I believe that mental health should be treated equally. Like many others I will be on medication for the rest of my life, the cost of this doesn’t include psychiatrist fees and other expenses of living with bipolar. Please sign this petition to help those taking life saving medication.
