In various retail, fast food or customer focused jobs,  staff constantly have to cope with abusive, threatening and aggressive customers.

More than 85% of employees within these fields have experienced abuse from customers at work, as stated by SDA.

In the public order Act section 4 states that it is an offence to use threatening, abusive or insulting words or behavior towards an other person.

Based on these facts, I propose that if a customer is found guilty of this behaviour and security or police have to be requested to help control the situation. The customer should be fined £75+ for causing distress, suffering or pain to the staff member.

Abuse is not part of the job. Those who serve you deserve respect.
