As a victim of sexual abuse I have found myself feeling very poorly supported. Now my abuser has been released from prison, His prohbation have relocated him back to the town in which I live. Living a minimum of 3.5 miles from my home. They have no thoughts on how this will affect me as the victim, even though healing from abuse can be just a painful as living through the abuse.
I want change, if an abuser is convicted they will most likely serve half they're sentence in prison and the other on licence. Whilst they are on licenece they should be made to stay away from where ever it is the victim is located. At this moment in time prison probation decides what would be an appropriate exclusion zone for a victim, even though they dont speak to them or get to know their individual needs. It needs to be a victims support team that outlines the exclusion zone and to have the offender placed outside of it. Please help me make a difference and keep abusers away from their victims for as long as possible.
