Hilary Kelvin started this petition to UK Parliament and

UK government should give a time limit on the application process for EUSS / EUSS Family Permit.

UK has left EU which left most EU and UK families living in other EU countries in Limbo. EU and UK families were forced to apply for EUSS Settlement Scheme, EEA and Non-EEA family member are now forced to apply for EUSS family Permit this include the family member of UK national living in the EU coming back to settle in the UK.

Like myself, many EU family have been separated because of this no time limit for making decision on the application and the MP's cannot do anything about it.

Unlike other visa application which has decision time limits, the EUSS Family Permit stated "as soon as possible" this gave the Home Office to interpret the "as soon as possible" to take for ever.

"as soon as possible" can be a year, two years or three years in the eyes on the Home Office decision makers as there is no time limit for "as soon as possible". For other visa application it only takes Home Office 1-2 months at most to make decisions. But for the EUSS and EUSS Family Permit this can take forever. Even though if you want to go by the way of court judicial review, it would cost you more and Home Office can turn around and say there is no time Limit.

For us to change this discriminatory application for the UK government to put in place a time limit for this category of application please sign this petition, together we can make a change.

Some people have waited for over a year to be refused while Home Office held their passport for no reason most especially the Non-EEA visa countries family members of an EU national.
