Will Black started this petition to UK Parliament

I write this a few moments after reading the tragic news of one of the recent inspirations of 2020 passing away from COVID 19.

Sir Thomas Moore set out to raise a goal of £1,000 for the NHS when he started walking the length of his garden over and over again, aiming to complete one hundred 25-metre lengths of his garden. Starting on the 6th of April 2020, He walked 10 lengths of his garden every day brinding this "Tom's 100th Birthday Walk for the NHS"

It wasnt long before Thomas Moore as a name that mostly everyone knew. He became a household name and an inspiration to all those feeling the ill effects that COVID had brought to 2020. By 10th of April 2020 he had hit his target of £1,000 and steadily increased the goal as more and more people around the world got involved in donating to the Captain. Fast forward to his birthday and he had raised a staggering amount of £30 million to donate to the NHS.

The reason I am making this petition is simple, in a time of trouble and strifle with lockdown blues and relations between all of us being at a low point. WE need now more than ever to celebrate the lives of those we hold so dear to us. Captain Thomas Moore became a beacon for millions of people, inspiring so many to do so much more. All of these people embody what we need the most during the hard times we are having. They embody HEART and SOUL. They are the GUARDIANS and the PROTECTORS. They are the HOPE and the FAITH that one day we can all remeber thsoe we have lost and cherish those that we still have, free of restriction.

I ask, please that statues celebrating the NHS key workers and all those currently working through this pandemic be put up in some towns and also to celebrate his contributions that a statue of Captain Sir Thomas Moore be erected in his home town of Keighley in addition to another in London.
