Equiptment provided for children with hip dysplasia.

My daughter has hip dysplasia. Her treatment started at 4 months. I was amazed at the lack of knowledge and support health professionals in this area had in regards to equiptment to help our children with this condition.
I had to rent another car seat at cost to myself in order to transport my daughter around.
I had to purchase another pram so she could fit in it.
Other items to promote comfort, like bean bags, booster seats, cushions for bed time also at cost to myself.
Luckily I was loaned a high chair from my local hospital, only because my father was talking to the Occupational therapist there, otherwise I would of had to of bought another one for her to fit into it.
She is facing surgery now, and again we will need rent another car seat at more expense as the original was not fit for purpose. This one is via grant at £200 and this is only if we are successful. I do not know what we will do if we are not.
She will be in a full body cast for potentially 3 months. Now she is a year older her current pram might not be suitable. So that is another cost for us.
Spica tables are not free to family’s. You either build your own or rent them again at cost to families. £47 per month of a minimum of 3! It’s just scandalous.
Not only is your child having surgery one of the most awful experiences but the financial burden it brings it’s not acceptable.
I cannot believe at this day in age with a common condition there is no support for families to help with their children’s recovery.
Please sign this petition to raise this issue in parliament. As part of our NHS this equiptment should be provided to families.
