Meisha Owen started this petition to UK Parliament and

Me and my siblings are currently separated from each other due to our mothers’ alcohol abuse. I moved in with my grandmother whilst my sister (14yrs) is being forced to live with her dad. My two younger brothers (6yrs) and (3yrs) are stuck with our mother.
Unfortunately our mother ruled that I wasn’t allowed to see my brothers over Christmas. I was heartbroken. I’ve always had a special bond with my brothers; I spent a lot of time with them and tried to protect them from a dangerous situation. I had bought them presents for Christmas that I wanted to give to them in person. It was cruel to me and it was cruel to my brothers that we were prohibited from seeing each other on the whim of our abusive mother.
I asked our social worker to help me arrange a visit with my brothers but sadly ‘her hands were tied’. Due to the fact that legally, our mother still had ‘the final say’, there was nothing to be done.
I know I can not be the only person separated from my siblings. Sign the petition to stop families being torn apart. We need legislation in the UK to make sure that siblings are guaranteed visitation rights to each other as long as there is no element of risk. We need to stop families suffering. We need to prevent the suffering of children.
