Absent parents can now reduce/stop child maintenance payments with no investigation from the child maintenance service. This will result in many children living under the poverty line. 

Many parents may have been furloughed or lost their jobs, this effects parents who live with their children and those who don't. 

Parents living with children provide for their children-there is no option not to do so. Absent parents should not be given the opportunity to choose not to provide for their children. It is their responsibility, along with residence parents, regardless of circumstances.

Unfortunately we live in a world were some adults do not want to best for their children. However, at a very basic level, financial support should be enforced to ensure children's basic needs can be met. This should not just be the responsibility of the residence parent. 

The child maintenance service was severely flawed to start with, however, allowing parents to stop or reduce payments with no questions asked is abhorrent and children will STARVE because of this.
