Businesses often buy TVs and cars etc but these are not used by the business but used at the home. This means that business owners get to live cheaper than the rest of us - no VAT has been paid.  We have other businesses excepting cash only - so government is not getting taxes from these places e.g. carwashers, take-aways,  hairdresser or tradesmen. Council tax is also unfair as single people get 25% discount. Couples often both work so share rent and council tax. Those renting and saving for a mortgage get penalised if they lose their job - get less welfare due to savings in bank. We also have people in council homes who have luxury cars - so could afford their own homes.  We need to end VAT;  make work more affordable for single people by linking council tax to wages. Unemployed get free prescriptions and dentist - low paid workers get no help towards rents. Those with luxury cars and living in council homes should pay market rents. When I had to sell my flat I could get no welfare and refused social housing. My mortgage was £200 yet new rent £500.  In the end I blew the money on holidays and council has to pay full rent.  A rent of £500 made it impossible to find a job that paid.  Recently I had a pension go into liquidation £30000 was in pension but I had to pay £10000 fees so £20000 went into my bank. Once again no welfare as money in bank more than 16K. So I got car bringing my bank money to 12K. So losing  £200 a month then on UC.  I had already paid tax on pension money then due to liquidation being penalised again by having UC cash reduced. Those who never work never pay care home costs and get free social housing.  We need a fair system that looks after workers and reduces unemployment benefits of freeloaders
