Such a lot of controversy around this statue. Should we leave it, pull it down or put it in a museum?

Some revere the leadership of Churchill in WW II. Some revile him for his many acts of racial agression against others. We are at an impasse, so here is what we can do: Split the statue in two, right down the middle, and place them on either side of parliament.

This is like Calvino's short story "the Cloven Viscount" where good and bad were perfectly polarised in a man who was split in two. It's a reminder that we all have equal potential for love and light, hate and shadow. Only the choices we make define us.

This is a statue which could educate. This would serve as a reminder, and we would like those who serve us in government to remember this every time they enter those halls, and every time they vote.

This is a chance to make a statement about both past, and future, and turn the statue into something that can inspire something better.
