I burnt out in teaching and had to leave the profession for my own health and the sake of my family. The current 'support' offered by many schools for staff who are struggling is to place them on 'competency procedures' rather than address the stress they are under. Healthy, supported teachers make better teachers.

Teachers are highly valuable!! Without a teacher there would be no other jobs: as the job of a teacher is to educate students so they become the best person possible.

I decided to leave the profession to be the mother I want to be. I didn’t want my own children to miss out on having a mother that would be working 60 hours a week.

It has been over 40 years since I left school and to this day I remember certain teachers who had such an impact on my life. I also apreciate the many hours teachers spend planning for lessons. Being a Teaching Assistant for over 20 years I see first hand how hard our teachers work for the children.

This is needed bug not just for teachers... I work in child care as an educator and we need this just as much. I'm fact possibly even more. Our wages are lower, the hours are longer and the support is less. We were not even thanked after being thrown under the bus, so to speak, when schools were shut down. And while we are on the subject shouldn't this also be important for people working in all caring positions. Old age carers etc

I was diagnosed with PND in July 2020 and the extra pressure from the government to be a super teacher does not help.
