Why won't England make face masks mandatory in shops or other spaces where social distancing is harder?  Face masks are about to become mandatory in Scotland and already are mandatory in much of the rest of the world. The science is now clear. There is a positive impact for both the mask wearer and other people. Come on England get with it.

Covid 19 isn't going away any time soon but if I wore a mask I could go to sports matches, cinemas, theme parks, shops, supermarkets, zoos. The virus incidence would then be so much lower by September that I could send my children back to school with less worry.

There are so many cloth face masks available now it is no longer reasonable for the Government to argue that the public will be taking away PPE from the NHS.

The Government always said that they didn't want people to wear masks instead of social distancing.  Now the Government has itself reduced social distancing from 2-1m and acknowledged  1m will be hard in shops and other indoor spaces, it is time for the Government to revisit its rules on face masks in England.
