It is inexcusable that any parent can escape paying for a child, especially when they become very wealthy. If a parent who is supposed to pay maintenance, wins the lottery, or receives a large sum of inheritance, does not under uk law have to use this money to support their child. CMS only factor income into assessment. Many parents, would therefore retire early on their winnings/inheritance and not have to pay the other struggling parent a penny. Children should not suffer because of this loophole in the system. There are many debates about on this 'Net Mums' and this impacts many families. Please sign my petition to Caroline Dineage MP.
