Kellie capell started this petition to UK Parliament

After an article going around about Paddy Mcguiness being attacked for using a disabled bay for his autistic twins, I was shocked at how many people though that disabled bays were for wheelchairs users only.

I strongly believe that the sign needs to be changed to something less restricted so that people who do have hidden disabilities do not receive   so much judgment when needing to use one of these spaces ( when they have a blue badge).
As a parent myself to 2 children with Autism, The anxiety I get leaving my house in the morning due to my child’s constant fight or flight mode is nerve wrecking. I acquired a blue badge after 4 exhausting hours with an Action for Carers worker filling out the paperwork. All of this to enable my child safety. I find it sad that many parents like myself and Paddy are under scrutiny because people think the bays are for wheelchairs only. Disabled people/children are not just people in wheelchairs. I feel changing the sign would make many of us struggling have less agressiveness towards us, which often if we manage to leave our homes, we do not need accusations and attacks from members of the public.
I believe a simple ‘D’  logo would be enough to make all disabilities included when it comes to the sign/logo.
