A free CGM for all children under 18 in the UK with Type 1 Diabetes

I believe all children in the UK with Type 1 diabetes should be provided with a CGM (Continuous Glucose Monitor) by the NHS as standard and regardless of cost.

Please sign this petition aimed to encourage the government to provide the funds needed to give all children in the UK suffering with type 1 diabetes a life saving CGM.

This may also in time make the greedy companys selling CGMs and profiting from such a horrific disease lower their prices because by them selling this life saving equipment for such high prices just puts it out of range for most people and risks lives.

A CGM is a life saving piece of kit that continuously monitors blood glucose levels and allows real time management and control of blood lows and highs which if dealt with quickly will also help reduce long term complications,i.e blindness, amputations, liver failure, vessel damage, heart problems to name but a few. It most importantly alerts when hypos(lows) are about to happen which if not dealt with immediately can be fatal. It also limits the amount of daily/nightly finger pricks and damage to the finger tips caused by them.

My daughter Georgia age 5 was recently diagnosed with type 1 diabetes but was refused a CGM as they were only being given out to children under 4 because NHS funds are low, even though she meets the NICE criteria to have one funded on the NHS.

We have had to try fund one ourselves through gofundme because they are so expensive and we currently cant afford it. If you are in a position to help us out with that  it would be amazing, i have put a link underneath, otherwise just sharing and signing this petition would be awsome. Many thanks. https://www.gofundme.com/cgm-needed-urgently&rcid=r01-154222817349-8a5f55212d1d4152&pc=ot_co_campmgmt_m
