Phoebe’s Cat Bill to be included in the road traffic act 1988

In the uk 230,000 cats are hit in traffic accidents each year, 630 cats a day, and are often disregarded and left in pain to suffer alone at the side of a road or in a hedge. Our feline family pet should get the opportunity they deserve for medical treatment, as soon as possible, and for the owners to be contacted ASAP. This could also save thousands of lives and less suffering to the cats.
I strongly stand with thousands of other people who have loved or lost their family cat in this way as have I, and not had their beloved pet return home where they belong. I agree that this should also be a Bill under the road traffic act. It needs to be an offence (whether their fault or not) to leave the scene without reporting the incident to police or other parties involved, I.e, RSPCA, owner, vets. They should remain at the scene until the parties have been notified or called, or if advised taken to the nearest vet.
I understand that animal cruelty is an offence, so with this in mind leaving a defenceless living animal badly hurt on the side of the road to suffer in pain without the help he/she deserves is an act of animal cruelty, knowing you’ve hit a living animal with your vehicle, then to continue driving without reporting it should be an offence. As owners, and for the voice of the cats that have just been left to die in pain and not return to their home, I am their voice along with everyone who has signed, because for many cats are peoples companions, they help massively with mental health and loneliness, so with this I am asking you please to make this count and for their lives to count too by making this a Cat Bill.
By passing this: It will give people the chance to say goodbye and come to terms with the loss and closure on what’s happened, as it really does mentally effect the loved ones. The not knowing or being by their side for comfort, It will also give the cats a fighting chance to live and stop the suffering they endure by being left alone untreated. Everyone and every living animal has the right to live.
