Bridget's Law: Give parents and siblings step-in rights to arrange funerals during divorce

Bridget was separating from her husband. The relationship between her husband and Bridget's family had completely broken down. Her husband remained next of kin at the time of her death, so we had no control and little influence over the funeral arrangements or how it was to be conducted. We had to compromise on some of the arrangements so did not get the funeral we wanted for Bridget.
We are asking that the law be changed to provide grieving parents and siblings with step-in rights during divorce to arrange funerals.
