The national interest must be in evidence before Brexit
0 have signed. Let’s get to 100!
“Members have a general duty to act in the interests of the nation as a whole; and a special duty to their constituents.” - Code of Conduct for MPs
Brexit should only be pursued where it can be clearly demonstrated to be in the national interest. In the absence of robust evidence of this, Article 50 should be withdrawn prior to March 29, 2019.
Parliament should commit to this position and - where necessary - appropriate legal advice should be sought to ensure that withdrawal of Article 50 can be actioned legally and timeously if it would be in the national interest to do so.
