Elliot MacInnes started this petition to UK Parliament

Currently, there are over 200,000 UK citizens that identify as non-binary or a gender outside the binary of male and female. They live lives facing discrimination all around for simply being who they are, with little to no protection from the government, and no action being taken to change this. Their identities not even legally recognized, and this estranges and isolates them from society.

Despite all the battles that we have fought to be legally recognized and allowed to simply have a gender option other than Male and Female on legal documentation, we still do not have the legal recognition that we deserve - as a basic right and as UK citizens. It’s already difficult enough for binary transgender people to be recognized on legal documentation as the gender they identify with. The government refuses to acknowledge we exist, simply because we are a minority. This is discrimination.

Non-binary people deserve to be legally recognized just as much as anyone else, and we want the government to realize this and take action, especially with the GRA reforms coming up. It is vital that we are legally recognized, because we are people just as much as anyone else. We deserve the right to live life as ourselves.

Your signature will count towards non-binary people being allowed to live life with the rights they deserve. We need your help.
