Since the beginning of the pandemic the GP's have hidden away from their patients, leaving us little choice but to accept the impersonal service of a telephone consultation, or worse e-consult. How many people have had important symptoms missed, or blindly prescribed antibiotics or painkillers, without having the cause of the infection or pain treated, or even being referred to services that are needed to treat. I am tired of the pot luck of getting an appointment, not based on need but want and who can get through the fastest. Leaving people vulnerable and unwell, with worsening conditions because they cant access the most basic of the NHS services. I want the GP surgeries to put safeguards in place to ensure that people are seen by their GP within a decent time frame. I want people to not have to turn to A&E and other emergency services to get the basic help they need. I want to feel safe and understood in my health. The system is broken, but I think if the government will listen to us then we can help fix the problem.
