£35m cuts to CAMHS in 2016 - Make mental health a priority in schools

£35m cuts were made to CAMHS (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services) which resulted in huge waiting lists (up to 18 months). We want better education of mental health issues for teachers so they can recognise early warning signs in order to take the pressure off of CAMHS. Lots of people suffer in silence, this needs to change. Regular compulsory meetings with counsellors in schools could help those who need support before it spirals out of control. More education for students regarding their own and others mental wellbeing can also be a massive benefit.
