Since the opening of junction 11A the traffic in Hockliffe has almost doubled from 11000 to over 18000 cars per day and with that there is a marked increase in poor driving and speeding in the village. We have collected our own evidence of this with our community speed watch as have the police.

RESULTS FROM POLICE SPEED CHECKS over 2 nights 

On Thursday morning 82 drivers were recorded exceeding the speed limit, the highest speed captured was 64mph.
This morning (Friday) a further 60 drivers were recorded at excess speeds, the highest speed being 59mph.
Calculations for the heavy goods vehicle footage you sent me this week  put the lorries at up to 40mph, the drone and rumble at this speed from a line of vehicles following each other being very noticeable.

What we need is speed cameras to control the traffic at both ends of the village, ASAP
