Jun 14, 2021 —

Julian Assange's father John and brother Gabriel Shipton kicked off at the 2021 Bitcoin conference in Miami, followed by a public event next day. In Boston, Julian was awarded the 2021 Sacco & Vanzetti Award by the Community Church of Boston which was accepted by his father. They also spoke with former presidential candidate Dr. Jill Stein at the event. On Thursday, they traveled to New York City for a public reception with Pink Floyd co-founder Roger Waters, journalist and TV host Chris Hedges, journalist at The Grayzone Aaron Mate, and satirist and radio host, Randy Credico.

After their one day visit in Philadelphia, the next stop was Washington DC, where they meet with author Marianne Williamson, the Intercept’s D.C. Bureau Chief Ryan Grim, and Policy Director Defending Rights & Dissent Chip Gibbons. Another event took place the same day with Fidel Narvaez (former Ecuadorian consul at the embassy in London), John Kiriakou (CIA torture whistleblower) and Ray McGovern (former CIA analyst/presidential briefer), which was broadcasted online.

On Friday, John and Gabriel gave an interview to Democracy Now and called for the U.S. and U.K. to end Julian's imprisonment in London. "The G7 meeting is based upon values, and yet they have, just a few kilometers down the road, a foremost journalist in jail."

Today they will be in Columbus OH, followed by stops in Chicago, Milwaukee, 2 events in Minneapolis, Denver, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and many more, ending their tour in Washington, DC in hopes of pressuring the Biden administration to drop its extradition efforts. Check out AssangeDefense.org for tour dates, updates, event details, how to get involved, video content, and more. All times are local.
