Lea Crompton-Harris started this petition to UK Government

The UK Government has failed its people across England having not provided a clear road map for businesses and those due to marry across England; essential for mental health, well-being and businesses to survive.

Marriages and civil partnerships are a vital part of our society, uniting couples to start their new life together and affording certain legal rights.

The people ask the Government to acknowledge the wedding industry and set out a clear roadmap on the 22nd February. Along with this, the people request that, initially, weddings resume as outlined below from March 9th across England, Scotland and Wales:

Up to 15 people may attend a wedding and civil partnership reception or celebration. This does not include anyone working at the venue. Wedding receptions and celebrations are one of the few exceptions where groups can be larger than 6 people, but they must not exceed 15.

It will be small steps, the people appreciate this, but having knowledge of those steps is powerful, for both people’s mental well-being and the economy - don’t let the wedding industry get left behind!
