As the mockery and exaggeration of women through drag performing grows, so too does the hurt and offence it is causing to women. No other group in society would be expected to watch on as their “protected characteristic” is ridiculed and humiliated by men in this way, on tv, online, in theatres, bars, and shockingly even in schools. It’s as wrong as dressing up in blackface and putting on a show of overly-exaggerated “black stereotypes”.  Women have fought hard battles to hold our place in society only to be reduced to a costume and a caricature. This petition asks for an all-out BAN on the mockery of women through Drag Performing by men and a change in law to include Drag as a misogynist sex-based hate crime against women.
