Reschedule “Eat Out to Help Out” in Aberdeen

COVID-19 has brought misfortune for all of us! The Government provided with unprecedented support to help keep businesses afloat! We, the business community, would like to acknowledge this and thank the UK Government for their effort to have kept businesses alive! As part of a plan to help the Hospitality sector to return to normalcy,
The Government introduced the “Eat Out to Help Out” discount scheme.

The “Eat Out To Help Out” scheme has been launched by the UK Government to run from 3rd August to 31st August, every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. This scheme allows Restaurants and Cafes to provide 50% discount to customers, up to a maximum of £10 per head, which is funded by the UK Government.

The introduction of this discount scheme, successfully encouraged a large number of diners to come out for eating. This was such a successful scheme, giving businesses in Hospitality sector a really good boost of confidence after a prolonged period of no income.

However, even before completing the first week, Aberdeen has been forced back into Lockdown, making us, independent small businesses, hopeless again! We are very worried about the future of our business. With ongoing operating costs and no income, we are going to be out of business soon.
We believe that the majority of businesses have been penalised due to the mistakes of a few and this is unfair.

Therefore, we are kindly requesting the Government to help us in Aberdeen, by extending the discount scheme for the time we have lost. Please reschedule “Eat Out to Help Out” for cafes and restaurants in Aberdeen.

We promise to reinforce all the possible measures to prevent spread of the virus again!
We are confident and hopeful for a positive response to our request!
