We the undersigned, petition the UK government to enact legislation requiring all manufacturers, retailers, designers and marketers of womens clothing sold in the UK to standardise the sizing and adhere to using one set of standard measurements for each size.

Weather we like it or not, womens self esteem, body image and mental health is effected by images she is presented with via media and social media which is then exacerbated by the sizes she is presented with when purchasing garments and if there is no correct regulation on sizing this can have a damaging effects and trigger many women to engage in behaviour symptomatic of eating disorders with the aim to stay within a certain size range.  The varying measurements from different brand labels all claiming to be the same size needs to change.

Womens clothing should be sold in measurements just like mens clothing (bust/waist/hip)

Government of the uk we urge you to take this small step creating and enacting legislation standardising the size labels in womens clothing, as one step in the right direction towards improving mental health and making women happier when purchasing garments.
