Sandie Whitehead started this petition to UK Government

For people who have been between jobs have lost their new position due to Covid-19. But because they were/are public sector workers they are not entitled to Furlough. These people who have done nothing wrong, just wanting to enhance their career are being penalised through no fault of their own. They have been forgotten and are now unemployed with homes and families to care for. Also unemployed people are not getting a chance on new positions as Furlough workers are taking a second income and snapping up any vacancies.

My personal reasons for setting this up: I acquired a new position and resigned from my then current job the same day. Two weeks into my notice the new company withdrew my offer as they were closing their offices. I then wrote to my then current employer (I worked in a school office) to ask if she would rescind my resignation, it took her two weeks to reply to me (on my last day of notice) to say no! I then became aware that I was not entitled to anything.

We need to make the Government aware of this so hopefully these forgotten are included in gaining some type of income. I am sure it cannot just be myself in this position. PLEASE SHARE.
