Nominate person to receive your State pension
During a working person's lifetime they pay in thousands of pounds to the government which they will receive as a State pension when they retire. If they are married or in a civil partnership, or maybe a long term partner with whom they have children, should they die before reaching State pension age, their surviving partner will be entitled to some form of pension. However, should a person be single, their children or other family members will receive nothing.
This is grossly unfair as the money will then go to the government, despite that person having contributed. If you are in a private or company pension, usually you can nominate someone of your choice as a beneficiary.
In this era of equality, surely it is not unreasonable for your State pension to go to your next of kin, or a person/persons of your choice.
Please help to ensure this petition is heard by the government in the interests of fairness and equality.
