Sarah Harris started this petition to UK Government

Current Government guidelines under the Coronavirus Bill state that public transport should be used for 'essential' travel/journeys only. Yet car-drivers are currently permitted to travel anywhere in England, visit garden centres and other non-local green spaces, to view properties and move home, and no doubt soon to be able to book holidays within the UK and travel to their holiday destinations. This means that millions of British citizens, including many disabled and other vulnerable groups, who do not drive or have access to a car, do not currently enjoy the same rights and freedoms as car-drivers, and that many are unable to travel easily or safely beyond their local area. This can only create an already escalating mental health crisis, as well as having negative environmental consequences. While under the current circumstances it is acceptable for people to work from home as and where they can, by strictly implementing the necessary appropriate hygiene and social distancing measures, allowing the use of public transport for leisure by non-drivers and those without access to a car during these very difficult times can only create a fairer and happier country.
