Currently electric scooters are illegal to use on public roads, cycle lanes and footpaths, this is ridiculous.

if someone can please explain the difference between electric bikes and electric scooters then please let me know.  People say electric scooters are a menace on the streets, however, cycles have been the same since forever so I don’t get why scooters are illegal, there is no difference between the modes of transport, one you stand on, one you sit on.

They both do about the same speeds and if anything scooters are lighter and cause less harm in the event of a collision.

Scooters are a green mode of transport too just like bikes, sure you get idiots on scooters but the same goes for bikes, and even car drivers (Tesla’s maybe an example?), so why on earth are they illegal?

the government are promoting all kinds of schemes to hit their environmental targets and yet they say scooters are BAD, but you can get a grant through your PAYE scheme at work to save up to 13.8% on an electric bike, it makes NO SENSE!!

Legalise scooters now, better for the environment, stays on an equal footing as electric bikes, opens the market up so good for the economy too and encourages the use of public transport, what’s not to like?
