The internet is an amazing invention that more than ever is helping connect us together. However, with all the positives there are also some negative aspects that need addressing.

The law simply has not caught up with the social media revolution and is now very outdated and needs refreshing to protect people.

More than ever people use social media for work as it allows small businesses to connect with their customers like never before.

Mums are now able to provide for their families using tools like Instagram and Youtube.

Unfortunately, it's also allowed trolls to run riot like never before. Creating multiple accounts to harass and stalk people online. When you're being harassed online it's often relentless and difficult to escape from.

Mrs Hinch is a successful cleaning influencer with a beautiful family but she's been subjected to the most horrific stalking and vicious comments. You wouldn't be allowed in the workplace to say cruel jibes at a work colleague but on Instagram and YouTube people currently get away with it.

The police are currently unable to deal with it as the law has not caught up with social media so they are handcuffed themselves as to deal with the trolls. We need an urgent review into social media in order to protect influencers and our own children.
