Cleo Smith - sex offenders in the community tag
To help protect women, and children like Cleo Smith, ALL convicted sex offenders in the community should wear a lifetime security tag. Currently only SOME sex offenders are tagged. When that four-year-old child was abducted Australian police had hundreds of suspects. If all the convicted sex offenders in the community had a security tag they may have found that child sooner. A lifetime security tag is a very small price to pay for any type of convicted sex offender that is released from prison. A lifetime security tag for sex offenders would help balance the need to re-integrate sex offenders into the community whilst helping to reassure and safeguard the community. I have two daughters and two granddaughters and they deserve to be protected from any type of convicted sex offender that is back in the community. By law every car driver must have a license. Currently it’s not a legal requirement for all sex offenders in the community to be tagged. Some of these offenders have proactively requested to be tagged, which is highly commendable but also deeply disturbing. Proactive and retrospective tagging of all registered sex offenders should be the default and not discretionary. MAKE THE UK SAFER FOR ALL FEMALES NOW!
