Increase Awareness Of Mask Exception For Carers
Increase Awareness Of Mask Exception For Carers
I am a father of an autistic daughter who is exempt from wearing a mask in public in order to not scare, and be able to communicate with, my daughter. I have recently seen a story where a mother of an autistic child was abused for not wearing a mask while out shopping. The lady in question is now scared to go out with her daughter, as she cannot wear a mask and is concerned about facing further abuse and embarrassment.
There is currently a limited amount of information available regarding people with disabilities being exempt from mask wearing, but nothing being brought to the public's attention regarding exemption for carers.
We would like the government to launch a campaign to bring awareness to this exemption so people who look after others with disabilities aren't in fear of entering public spaces.
