Our son turns 3 very soon and as a working Mum, he attends nursery a day and a half each week. I have tried to apply for the 30 hours of free childcare via the Gov website to find there is no box to tick if my Husband is retired. After a lengthy phone call, I have been informed that we are not eligable for any help with childcare as my husband does not work 16 hours a week.!

It seems to me that every other couple is eligable as they either both work or because they do not and recieve some form of credit to support their diminnished earnings.

This rule is DISCRIMINATORY, AGEIST, and I do not expect my husband now in his 70's to go out and find work for 16 hours a week to comply. We cannot be the only parents of a young child who are recieving a pension of some sort. We are not high earners and this decision does not encourage me to stay in work.

Please help me to overturn this ridiculous rule. I am currently VERY ANGRY.
