All over the UK children with additional needs are being failed due to lack of "resources" which is money. ASD children are being put into mainstream schools justified by the Government as a bid of "inclusion". This is not achieving inclusion. It is in fact creating further exclusion for these vulnerable children. One of which is my5 year old primary one son. Mainstream schools are being put in impossible positions as they are dictated to that these children will attend however are not given additional funds to their budget to adapt the environment appropriately nor to provide the crucial support required. My son spends majority of his school day out of the classroom most frequently in a state of heightened aniexty resulting in meltdown and a phone call for him to come home. Due to all During this process other children are often physically hurt, my son is being discussed within households of rightly so angry parents however the anger should not be aimed at myself or my son it should go to those in 'power'. As the system stands it does not promote inclusion. It breeds  divide, negativity, discrimination and detriment. My son is not less due to his disability. He is beautiful, brave and bold and has the right to access an appropriate education establishment. I now wait for him to again be discussed at a panel to access his rightful place in a specialist placement. No parent should have to fight for their child's right to education. This is wrong, this is failure, this needs to change.
