No to short term political gains. Yes to full democracy and long term planning. Initially all elected representatives should work together in solving problems and decision making, no more opposition meaning as many as half the people we elect are Not allowed to engage in our government.  No more general elections, every year 20% of members stand for re-election, this will allow for continuity of government and long term planning. These are simple changes which coulld be quickly carried through if members of parliament. The new system could then evolve and be refined.House of lords to be replaced by a second chamber of selected people with special experience in essential fields, ie education, industry, agriculture, foreign affairs, government to act with members of parliament as advisors working with them in teams on policies.People's assemblies from the smallest communities, through regions to be linked with central government in a two way dialogue, so that people can express what they need in their communities to improve their quality of life, as well as being able to express national concern ie would they rather spend money on housing health education and peace, than on armaments.

At the moment we do not have a democracy, but using digital connections we could have, and people could then be empowered and involved, instead of disillusioned and apathetic. Long term planning, all our elected representatives in government, less opportunity for factions, wealth and corporations, secret dealings, to determine decisions rather than the people
