Charitable donations to the NHS

The NHS is in financial trouble, yet it serves us all. We donate via TV, Charity Shops, wills and legacies etc to many other world wide and UK charities. Now our NHS needs it and we will benefit from bigger resources.
Yes we pay taxes and National Insurance but people are living longer now which no one anticipated in 1948. Also Science has moved on, it needs more funding to help and eradicate illnesses that weren't prevalent or heard of in the 40s.
Please can we come up with voluntary charitable donations between us in the UK to give a big helping hand to our NH Service and ourselves, the beneficiaries?
I don't want to see our medical practitioners stretched beyond belief, our elderly dieing in corridors, hospitals and health care practises closing. I would rather give to my local NHS charity shop than to Oxfam (I completely understand negative feelings about this). However I want my own family and friends to be back on their feet before we can truly help others. For one thing able bodied and working people could have the extra monies to go into other charity boxes.
Please let us become the National Health Saviours. This is irrespective of government and Brexit. It's a cry from the heart from all of us, even those who can afford private treatment - there is no social divide when it comes to health. We all wish each other well.
