This is exactly what I face. I hadn't really minded not having subtitles at the cinema (which is odd) as I have subtitles when I watch films at home. I was born with hearing loss and subtitles help me to understand what's being said as sometimes I do miss what's being said. Yes. I've emailed the Odeon three times about this (and is waiting their third response). Their excuse is "

I’m British have deaf family in Uk who can’t watch movies til our on dvd bcoz no captions at cinemas.

I'm signing because captions on a film is not distracting, and sometimes helps if you hear someone unclearly say something on screen. I'm not deaf, but loosing a bit of hearing and I LOVE to watch anime and prefer the original Japanese with subtitles to the dubs due to them changing the meaning. Please help those who need help to enjoy your entertainment premesis at a reasonable time. Make them close captions even so if someone pops up needing to read it then u can switch the film. I'm shure it's not that hard. Be nice to deaf people!!!!
