Allowing high school basketball players to dunk in warmups will bring back the love and excitement of the game of basketball because it’s allows us to show our form of art to the fans in a way that we enjoy doing. Also some hoopers use dunking as a way to get their body loose quickly, so putting a rule that limits or abolishes it affects the players and the fans. Ever since Texas has put that rule in place on dunking most games went from hyped to dead crowds immediately due to them not being entertaining.

Also, I’m aware that they put rules on dunking in warm ups to prevent the rim from breaking, but why not enforce no hanging on the rim to limit breaking rims rather than not letting us dunk at all. Moreover, there were times when my school was allowed to dunk, but once the refs came into the gym you had to stop. Which didn’t make sense because if we were already dunking in the first place why do we have to stop just because the refs walked in and since we aren’t allowed too dunk why even let us do it just for y’all to take our freedom away once the ref walks in.

Now that I’m just thinking about it colleges weren’t allowed to dunk just like high schoolers but NCAA got rid of that rule recently. So, if professional athletes that train much harder than us and majority of them have crazy bounce and can dunk if they are allowed to dunk why can we dunk in warmups if in a couple of years we’re going to be allowed to do it, why not let us have the freedom as colleges now in high school, so I would appreciate it if people would  sign this to bring back the excitement to high school basketball in Texas.
