Periods are not a choice, but a bodily function that's no different than going to the bathroom. If toilet paper and condoms are free, then why aren't menstrual products? According to the Free Tampon Foundation, 86% of women start their periods without access to menstrual products. Additionally, Always Puberty & Confidence conducted a survey which found that 1 in 5 American girls missed school because they lacked access to menstrual products. Menstrual products should be a right, not a privilege. It should be available to all menstruators, regardless of their gender identity and socioeconomic status.

The University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) should provide menstrual products in all bathrooms across campus in order to alleviate period poverty and promote menstrual equity. We are calling for your help in holding UIC accountable for providing these products!
