UFW wishes you a Happy New Year w/downloadable calendar :)
In appreciation of your support we want to offer our friends a FREE UFW downloadable 2010 calendar. Please click on the image above or on the text link to download! Si Se Puede!
You'll notice some changes to our e-mails and action alert pages. This is because we have just had a great opportunity to upgrade our e-mail system at no cost to us. This new system will allow us to stay up to date with expanding technology and provide you with new tools to speak out for justice.
One of the drawbacks of this move is things will look a bit different. We hope you understand and enjoy the new ways of making your voice heard.
Thank you again for all your support!

The holiday season is when we share special memories and look forward to creating new ones in the coming year. In this spirit, We want to pass along some of our exciting accomplishments from 2009 plus ask for your help to complete projects in 2010.
After years of fighting to protect farm workers from the heat and grower abuses through sponsoring legislation and after having the governor veto each attempt, this summer we took a new unique approach to the dilemma. We filed a landmark lawsuit against the state of CA and its Occupational Safety and Health Standards Board (Cal/OSHA) for failing to live up to their constitutional duties to make sure all farm workers are safe. Our lawyers' first court appearance was on November 30th.
In 2009, our efforts have gotten dozens of workers their jobs back after unjust firings. We've been instrumental in getting workers paid thousands of dollars in lost wages. Just at the San Joaquin Valley's Kirschenman Enterprises alone, workers obtained more than $50,000 to remedy unfair termination charges.
We're organizing at Giumarra Vineyards, where an election was thrown out in 2006 after a judge ruled that the corporate giant illegally intimidated workers. Giumarra has a long history of violating workers' rights. Workers are fighting for a union contract to protect themselves from Giumarra's abuses and they will be turning to you for help in the coming year.
We've accomplished a lot, but there is still more to do. The need is great in this economic climate. Please help us bring justice to the fields by making a holiday gift to farm workers. No amount is too much or too little. Even a few dollars a month will help us get stronger and take advantage of the opportunities ahead.
We thank you again for the generosity you have shown us. From our family to yours, we wish you Happy Holidays and a prosperous New Year!
