Right now, key workers are getting the nations of the world through one of the worst pandemics we have ever seen  They are keeping society going and working hard throughout this ordeal.

If sporting organisations can organise testimonials to reward them for their work with the proceeds from just one match, race etc the money will go to the right people and not the multimillionaire players, business owners and so on.

It would have the added benefit of putting money back into the economy as the less well paid, as key workers tend to be usually spend money when they have it (out of necessity).

It would also be a welcome boost to morale towards the end of a torrid year.  Football, horse racing, boxing, motorsport, and more could actually do something useful.                                       

It would be relatively easy to organise and a practical response.  At a time when some sporting teams have cut the wags of the lower paid people whilst maintaining the pay of the wealthy this would be seen as one way to set the scales right.  

Further it would be an example of the sports world genuinely supporting the people who support it.  This is not a great logistical exercise and could be done.
