Pads and tampons are a necessity, not a luxury. Some bathrooms on campus offer pads and tampons at a relatively low price and while there are resources on campus, such as the Women's Center, that offer them for free to its students, emergencies can happen. From personal experience, I have often been put in the extremely uncomfortable situation of not having change, to purchase a pad or tampon when most needed. Therefore, I propose the implementation of these resources, free of charge, in more UCSB bathrooms. This includes female, gender-neutral, and male bathrooms. Doing so, will help accommodate not only to women, but transgender males and nonbinary students, who may feel that their needs are being neglected in their preferred bathroom.
