The UCSB Medical Humanities Program is a program that is dedicated to helping future healthcare leaders form a "foundation in humanities which can lead to increased empathy, more understanding of historical and social contexts of disease, and a better resiliency to burnout." This Program has served so many students at UCSB and in the Santa Barbara Community through the work of Jason Prystowsky, MD, MPH, and his associates. From the testimonies of students, getting rid of this program will be detrimental to the pre-health experience at UCSB, lessening interest and support for pre-health students. Having an outlet involving the humanities is an incredible opportunity for students, especially as so many medical schools recognize the importance of an education in the medical humanities. Please sign this to show your support in keeping the UCSB PaCE Medical Humanities Program going forward!
